Product Introduction
Molecular Formula : Li2SO4. H2O
CAS NO. : 10102-25-7
Formula weight : 127.960
Product Introduction : Lithium sulfate monohydrate is a white crystalline powder; it is easily soluble in water but insoluble in ethanol; its density is 2.22 g/ml, its melting point is 860°C, its boiling point is 330°C at 760 mmHg, and its water solubility is 348 g/L (20°C).
Quality Standards :
Use : In self-leveling mortars, it significantly accelerates cement hydration and improves early concrete strength. In sulphoaluminate cement and high-alumina cement systems, it has minimal impact on the final strength of the finished product, making it ideal for applications requiring rapid achievement of certain strength requirements. In the glass industry, it is primarily used as a colorant and to enhance the strength and heat resistance of glass.
Packing : Plastic inner and woven outer, 25kg/bag or cardboard drum, or packaged as required.
Application Areas
Lithium sulfate monohydrate (Li2SO4·H2O) is widely used in many fields, mainly including industrial applications, medical applications and other applications.
● Industrial applications Battery industry: Lithium sulfate monohydrate is widely used in various secondary batteries, such as lithium batteries and nickel-hydrogen batteries, as an electrolyte salt. It can also be used as a lithium battery additive to improve the electrochemical performance and stability of the battery.
● Glass manufacturing: Lithium sulfate monohydrate has significant advantages in the manufacture of ion-conductive glass. It can more easily obtain high lithium concentrations, and the prepared glass is more stable and easy to preserve. This kind of glass has broad application prospects in fields such as solar panels and new batteries.
● Ceramic manufacturing: It is added to ceramics as an additive to play a role in fluxing and adjusting viscosity, improving the performance and quality of ceramic products.
● Cement additive: It is used in Portland cement to accelerate the coagulation and hardening process of cement, shorten the coagulation time while maintaining the strength of the final product. Catalyst: Catalyst used in elimination reactions, such as the conversion of n-butyl bromide to 1-butene at a temperature range of 320°C to 370°C with a yield close to 100%.
● Other chemical processes: Used in ultrasonic nondestructive testing, building blocks and chemical synthesis, etc.
● Pharmaceutical applications
Lithium sulfate monohydrate is mainly used as a pharmaceutical intermediate in the pharmaceutical field, and its lithium ions (Li+) have potential applications in wastewater treatment, air purification and other environmental governance. In addition, it is also used to make fireworks and piezoelectric materials.
● Other applications
Soil conditioner: Used as a soil conditioner to help improve soil properties and promote crop growth.
Heat storage material: Widely used as a heat storage material due to its high solid-solid phase change enthalpy of 26.1 kJ/mol.
Separation of calcium and magnesium: Used to separate calcium and magnesium in many industrial processes, which is a very important step.
