Use : It is primarily used in the preparation of lithium salts and lithium-based greases, electrolytes for alkaline batteries, and lithium bromide refrigerator absorbents. In self-leveling slurries, it significantly accelerates cement hydration, promotes surface densification and crystal growth, and enhances concrete strength and durability. It also plays a crucial role in glass manufacturing, lowering the melting temperature and viscosity of glass and adjusting its refractive index and optical properties.

● Lithium hydroxide can be used as a developing agent and lubricating oil for spectral analysis. As an additive for alkaline battery electrolytes, it can increase the capacity by 12% to 15% and increase the service life by 2 to 3 times.

● It can be used as an absorbent for carbon dioxide and can purify the air in submarines.

● The chemical formula is: 2LiOH(s)+CO2(g)=Li2CO3(s)+H2O(l).

● It is used to make lithium salts and lithium-based greases, electrolytes for alkaline batteries, absorption liquids for lithium bromide refrigerators, etc.; used in petroleum, chemical, light industry, nuclear industry, etc. When used in alkaline batteries, the aluminum content is not more than 0.06% and the lead content is not more than 0.01%. It is used as an analytical reagent, a photographic developer, and also used in the manufacture of lithium; it is used as a raw material for the preparation of lithium compounds. It can also be used in metallurgy, petroleum, glass, ceramics and other industries.

Packing : inside plastic and outside woven,20 kg/bag, 25 kg/bag,or on-demand packaging.

Chemical properties

It is easy to absorb carbon dioxide and water in the air, but its absorption capacity is slightly worse than that of NaOH and KOH. Lithium hydroxide has the general properties of an alkali and can undergo the following reactions.

1. Alkaline reaction

It can turn purple litmus solution blue and colorless phenolphthalein red; and its concentrated solution has been experimentally verified to denature phenolphthalein and change the solution from red to colorless (similar to concentrated NaOH).

2. Neutralization with acid

HCl+LiOH=LiCl+H2O

3. Reaction with acidic oxides

2LiOH+CO2=Li2CO3+H2O (this reaction is used to absorb carbon dioxide in aerospace)

4. Reaction with metal salt solution

FeCl3+3LiOH=Fe(OH)3↓+3LiCl

Application Areas

Anhydrous lithium hydroxide is widely used in many fields. First, in the field of batteries, anhydrous lithium hydroxide is one of the key raw materials for the production of lithium-ion batteries. It is used to manufacture positive electrode materials and electrolytes. Especially in the new energy vehicle industry, the requirements for lithium battery performance are increasing. The purity and performance of anhydrous lithium hydroxide have a direct impact on the overall performance of lithium batteries.

Secondly, in the field of ceramics and glass, anhydrous lithium hydroxide can be used to manufacture high-temperature ceramics and glass materials to improve the high temperature resistance and mechanical strength of the materials. In addition, anhydrous lithium hydroxide can also be used to manufacture porous concrete, special optical glass, and synthetic vitamin A and other lithium salt products.

In the chemical industry, anhydrous lithium hydroxide is used to prepare lithium salts and lithium-based greases, electrolytes for alkaline batteries, and absorption liquids for lithium bromide refrigerators. The lithium-based grease produced has a long life, good water resistance and fire resistance.
In the field of aerospace, anhydrous lithium hydroxide can be used as air purification for submarines and breathing masks for pilots. At the same time, it can be used as ion exchange resins to absorb radioactive isotopes in national defense, and can also be used as heat carriers for nuclear reactors and protective agents for metal surfaces.

With the enhancement of environmental awareness, the green preparation technology of anhydrous lithium hydroxide has also become a research hotspot in the future. In the future, with the continuous advancement of science and technology and the vigorous development of various industries, the preparation process of anhydrous lithium hydroxide will be optimized and innovated, its application scope will continue to expand, and the market demand will continue to be strong.
